Katerine Escobar is a Colombian artist graduate from the National University of Colombia, her work is a provocative exploration of surrealism and conceptual narrative, weaving together themes of education, politics, and the historical evolution of women in society. By juxtaposing disparate symbols, she masterfully navigates the tension between the sublime and the abominable, confronting the natural world with the artificial to create striking visual dualities. Her process is rooted in years of traditional graphite practice, a skill that translates seamlessly into her digital medium. Her images, featuring female characters, elements from nature, and everyday objects, are deliberately staged to feel both absurd and sarcastic; they offer a universal language that invites immediate reflection and an inevitable visceral reaction from the viewer.
